September Displays

PUT THE YC PRESCOTT LIBRARY ON YOUR MUST-SEE LIST FOR SEPTEMBER!!
SEVERAL WONDERFUL NEW DISPLAYS ARE READY FOR YOUR PERUSAL.

fossilOpening the September displays is a teaser for the Geology Department – featuring some interesting fossils and minerals, plus some books to read if you want further information. The items are on loan from Beth Boyd, Geology Department Faculty, and are in the standing case next to the reading patio. Just seeing the display makes one want to take a class!

A camera collection loaned to us by library staffer, Daneke Kanarian accompanies a display of assorted photography books that is on the round rolling display cart in the library’s “living room” (the periodical room). You are welcome to check out anything you find of interest.

Two library staffers have prepared a “Special Books” display in the standing case by the front door and on the 1st stack across from it. Everyone has a few really special books – special because of the subject, or the author, or the illustrations, or the age, etc. Maybe these will remind you of some of yours.

We have student art on the stacks near the front of the library – from Instructor Dana Cohn’s class in Oil/Acrylic painting. This is a rotating exhibit and will be up for most of the rest of the semester – paintings changing as they are produced. Well worth seeing!

Right by the entrance to the library is a painting loaned to us by Dana Cohn, Instructor of Art 190-191 classes – Oil and Acrylic Painting. The title is “St. Francis of the Animals”, and it is spectacular. You could easily spend an hour looking at it and not see it all.
