I feel that sometimes, as an American, I get tunnel vision regarding social conditions. It is easy to stay in my bubble and decry any inkling of oppression in the United States. Unfortunately, there is serious oppression going on in the world, and maybe we should be more cognizant of that.

I had no idea women in Iran are forbidden from entering stadiums (something we do not think twice about here). This is the first time in 37 years that women can enter a stadium in Iran. Women cheered on their 2018 World Cup soccer team with their fellow Iranians.

I am hoping this continues, and is not a onetime deal.
