Most of us have heard the saying, “sitting is the new smoking.” There is skepticism on whether or not sitting really is that bad for you. My chiropractor keeps telling me I need to stand more. Maybe he has a point.

Researchers at a university in England performed a study linking sitting and blood flow in the brain. This small study involved 15 healthy adults who were fitted with specialized headbands that track blood flow through the middle cerebral arteries. In a lab, the adults simulated office time, which entails a lot of sitting.

While sitting for extended periods then walking on a treadmill, researchers were able to notice small changes in blood flow. Check out the article to read the results!
